Classified Connections 2025 has ended

Welcome to Classified Connections 2025!


Below you’ll find the schedule/options for each day. Each option has the Google Meet link included - once you’ve made your selections, you can access all your sessions from your schedule (click on the head icon on the left to go to your personal schedule)


TO SIGN UP: Sign in to Sched on the top right, or create an account if you haven’t made one before. This will pop up the registration information page - once you complete that you are signed up for the conference, and will be able to add sessions to your schedule. 


TO MAKE YOUR SCHEDULE: Make sure you are signed in to Sched. You’ll see white circles to the left of the session names - click on those to add those sessions to your schedule. Once you’ve made your selections, you can access all your sessions from your schedule (click on the head icon on the left to go to your personal schedule). Note that there is an opening keynote from our PPS Superintendent, Dr. Kimberlee Armstrong, that all attendees are invited to!

This workshop provides a comprehensive overview of the diverse characteristics of autism, emphasizing a pro-neurodiversity perspective. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how autistic individuals experience the world, with a focus on key topics such as:

Autistic Masking: Exploring the phenomenon of masking, where individuals hide or suppress autistic traits to fit into societal expectations, and the resulting emotional and mental strain it can cause, including burnout.

Ableism in Education: A discussion of how ableism manifests in schools, and how it affects the inclusion, well-being, and success of autistic students.

Through this session, participants will also receive practical, actionable strategies to better support autistic students in school settings.

Join us for a short documentary that highlights the journey of a student with a disability thriving in an inclusive classroom environment. The film showcases best practices and the power of community and support. Following the screening, we will engage in a guided discussion to reflect on our mindsets and beliefs about inclusion, and explore how these perspectives influence our practices and interactions with students.
